PhD and post-doctoral students can consult the Graduate Campus website for information and support for a successful career.
For useful information on your academic career, particularly a list of possible funding sources after you finish your doctorate, check out the portal for UNIL researchers Research and Career.
Three times a year, the newsletter « ça vous est égal ? » published by the Equal Opportunities Office, brings you news of support for women’s careers and equality at UNIL.
The Relève académique portal is aimed at:
- PhD students, who will find advice, references and resources to help them complete the various stages of their thesis successfully.
- Individuals who are considering embarking on the adventure of a PhD but have not yet made a decision.
- Individuals at the end of their PhD, who are looking for information on the possibilities of pursuing an academic career or potential alternative pathways.
The Equal Opportunities Offices of universities in French- and Italian-speaking Switzerland have designed two practical guides aimed at the next generation of academics. “Getting your thesis off to a good start” is aimed at all PhD and other students who are tempted by an academic career.
“Beyond the doctorate” is aimed at people who are approaching the end of their PhD or have already finished it.

The Committee responsible for academic succession planning at UNIL supports the Rectorate in establishing a policy on the next generation of academics.
This policy aims to create positive overarching conditions for the career progression of individuals either remaining in the academic world or leaving it.
